Bakery On State

I ordered sweet rolls and sour dough bread. Among the sweet rolls, the cruellers were small, but still the best of the order. Cheese danish I ordered were good, but the icing was very, very sweet--much more so than other bakeries. And a cinnamon roll was large, but quite 'doughy' with very, very little cinnamon and lots of the same overly sweet icing of the danish. The sour dough bread was among the worst I've ever had. It had an nicely brown, but soft crust rather than the hard, crunchy crust of most sour doughs. And the bread was quite dense, soft and crumbly, not at all like most true sour doughs. It did have a very, very slight tangy flavor like true sour dough, but I'm guessing it was from adding a little vinegar to the same dough they use for other breads, buns and sweet rolls. A shame.

It was a gift and I asked for it to be delivered in the afternoon when people were home. No reply. Recipients said what they received was good, but there was a note that many items were not included (they sent me a copy of the note) and no refund or communication from the bakery?!? Quality of food is good, but communication is terrible and I?m disappointed. Also, am I getting a refund for items not delivered??

?Sold out? of three bakery items we requested, so they substituted with items we did not care for. Restaurants need to understand substituting food is not acceptable. Just cancel the order so customer can order elsewhere and get what they want.

Awesome! Sent my daughter-in-law when she was passing through Manitowoc...that's how good the bread is!

The store was actually closed for the week will try this coming week

Peanut squares are sooooooooooooo good and I made a toasted cheese sandwich with the bread! Also, soooooooooo good!

Eat street is great, but Bakery on State has terrible customer service. They're not open at all this weekend, but still allow online orders for some reason. I ordered some kneecaps for my dad's birthday, went to pick them up at the set time, only to see then that they left a sign on the door that they're closed until Monday. Well that's some crappy communicating. Then I had to panic to find the food somewhere else. They also have a history of not making orders that were put in way ahead of time. They forgot my husband's 30th birthday cake that i ordered a month before hand. I see they have many reviews saying the same thing. I wouldn't do business with them. They make you look unprofessional and unprepared.

Great bakery. I called the bakery first to confirm they had all the items I wanted to order in stock as it was close to closing time on a Saturday. That helped me place an order that could be fulfilled. Order was delivered very quickly after I placed it. Everything was delicious!

Got some tasty treats delivered as a gift and I couldn't be happier with the experience from start to finish! Quite a variety of delicious options to choose from and my gift recipient loved it. As someone who lives out of state, this was a perfect way to surprise someone with some affordable but yummy treats. Would definitely order again.

Unfotunately, EatStreet did not work. I am glad the order email had a link to call. After making the call, the expeience was great (and our Saturday work crew enjoyed the bakery).

Half the items were missing. Will not order again

The recipients of my order loved the cookies and bars from Bakery on State. They told me I had selected the best bakery in town. The delivery was on schedule and very satisfactory.
