About the Role

The Human Resources Administrator position will be responsible for administering various employee benefits and systems including retirement savings, disability, life, health and time off plans. This position will work directly with the HR team on HR initiatives, projects, and compliance. Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about employee benefits and the laws that apply to them. This role will also assist all HR functions on the team with projects as needed (i.e. systems, payroll, recruitment).


The goal is to provide a framework to establish your role and responsibilities while allowing you to grow and expand your knowledge, reach and experience within the HR team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist employees with enrollment in benefits programs (i.e. medical, 401(k), voluntary programs)
  • Coordinate with carriers and brokers to answer employee questions
  • Administer paid leave and corresponding email communications
  • Work with FMLA vendor to ensure FMLA tracking and compliance
  • Inform employees about additional benefits they?re eligible for
  • Assist with the onboarding process by ensuring that assigned tasks are completed on time
  • Assist with writing and analyzing job descriptions
  • Responsible for the completion of employment verifications related to medical support orders
  • Maintain electronic records of employees by ensuring that all appropriate documents are scanned and filed in corresponding paper and online files
  • Review and maintain FSA claims records
  • Accurately complete HRIS updates and keeping employee benefit and payroll deduction records up to date
  • Perform periodic audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
  • Assist with the offboarding processing by ensuring COBRA compliance and benefit deactivation
  • Stay up to date with changes to benefits legislation
  • Process timely and accurate 401(k) and HSA enrollments and contributions as needed
  • Assist with compliance and worker?s compensation filings as needed
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality

Other Job Duties

  • Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process improvements
  • Provide input to Human Resources policies and procedures by attending weekly meetings with the HR team
  • Assist with our various day to day HR and Office Administration tasks or projects as directed in areas such as onboarding, training and development, benefits, compensation and payroll
  • Work with HR team and Office Management to make EatStreet the best place to work in Madison

What We Expect You to Bring to the Table

  • Associates or bachelor?s degree in Human Resources or related degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of benefits-related human resources experience preferred
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits software
  • Administrative, clerical, or record-keeping experience a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, hit tough deadlines and work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Capable of maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
