Great food and service as usual!

    Dec 30, 2024

Normally when we order soup it comes with pita bread but not this time. Soup was good but over $10 for a bowl of soup seems expensive.

    Nov 13, 2024

Normally get pita bread with the soup but didn?t this time. Also $20 for two bowls of soup seems like a lot for the amount of soup received. Soup was good.

    Fast, cheap, and delicious

    Mar 27, 2024

Food and service are always fantastic.

I received the wrong food, and therefore did not have lunch

Food and service was great! Fresh and tasty.

Everyone raves about the lamb loin.

The food was picked up at 11:32 AM. It was a 6 to 11 minute delivery time. It took over an hour to get there. Food was unacceptable! Cold, soggy, wilted! Probably the worst experience I?ve ever had with a food delivery. Contacted customer support and all they offered was a coupon not the $67 refund that I was requesting for the food and delivery charges. If there were negative stars, I would give negative stars for this experience. I basically work a full day for what I paid for this and they are not willing to refund because one of their employees, an eat street employee, took over an hour to deliver food?and that was only after I contacted someone via the chat to find out where my food was. Totally horrific experience. Completely unacceptable! Eat street, if you cannot provide a service reliably, you should think about getting out of the business!

The best humus ! Thanks for the extra garnish.

    Apr 1, 2023

Ripped off and disappointed with the tiny portions. We used to order takeout from Aladdin and loved it, but the portions were cut back and I thought your entrees came with a side of pita (maybe I?m mistaken, but shouldn?t a gyro platter come with pita when you pay $15 for it!). My chicken skewer was not the same quality - more like burnt nuggets.

I had the Falafel + Hummus sandwich for the first time today and it was absolutely delicious and made super quick.

    Mar 28, 2023

    Delicious every time!

    Mar 7, 2023

Delicious! Chicken was tender and well seasoned. Pita was fresh.

    Delicious as always. On time.

    Oct 26, 2022

I was really disappointed by Jasmine's Vegetarian Combo. The amount of food I received was small, and the different components were all slopped together into one, undivided takeout container. Not appetizing, and not worth $14.99.

    The food was amazing!

    YUM

They were out of an item we ordered and refused to offer a refund or credit because it was ordered offf eat street. Maybe they shouldn?t use eat street then?

    Sep 26, 2022

Great food. Be sure to include forks, spoons and napkins with to go orders.

    Sep 11, 2022

The food was good but the order was wrong. In ordered a salad but got another order of lentil soup. Also I thought pita bread came with lentil soup but didn?t get any

    Jul 26, 2022

    Always delicious!

    Fantastic food as always

    Jun 20, 2022

I ordered a gyro platter, it didn't have any bread with it, I called they said they no longer put the pita in with a gyro what?? That is all part of it, anyway the food was cold by the time I got it and for the price it was really small, I will never eat here again

    May 19, 2022

    Great food. Fast and delicious.

    May 18, 2022

Quick and easy to order. Made right on the time told it?d be.

    May 9, 2022

Food was great, as always. Eat street indicated order was ready but had to wait 20+ Additional minutes at restaurant. Ordered extra pita but didn?t received. They were very busy. Will not order carry out off of eat street again, will just go to restaurant to place any order.

Great soup & Greek salad with pita bread!

I write this review because Aladdin Caf? (AC) is a good example of what is wrong with most restaurants in Lawrence, esp. those that serve multi-ethnic foods. If I had to rank AC, I would give it, grading from A to F, a solid C minus. I do not eat outside. And if I ever have to order food, I avoid so many restaurants in Lawrence because of the extremely low quality of food, the poor service, and the poor hygiene. As far as I am concerned, there is no restaurant in Lawrence that deserves more than a C minus. So, when I give AC (or India Place, another seemingly decent restaurant) a C minus, I am being generous. I would now like to elaborate on some of the issues with AC: First, portions are not satisfactory at all given their overpriced menu (Speaking of overpriced menu, see also Minsky's Pizza). When you make an online order, they sometimes cut off the %30-50 of the portions (esp. with deserts)---whether intentionally or unintentionally I do not know. Almost half portion of my desert was missing the last time I ordered. I wanted to report this issue to the restaurant owner. A young individual, who claims to be the son of the owner, called me on my phone. I gave him the option that if he is unwilling to improve the situation, he can go ahead and cancel my order. He said he understands my concern and wants to fulfill my order. However, the order was even smaller portion than the last time. The son was rude and kept calling me "brother", which is not a proper way to address a customer. He was abrasive, cutting me off every time I tried to speak. He blatantly refused to admit that they serve the desert (e.g., rice pudding) in different sizes of plastic containers. Despite my best efforts to explain the issue, he insisted and implied that I make all this up. As if this is not enough, he commented on the way I pronounce a certain word (i.e., "transparent"), and told me that he has hard time understanding me, which is odd given that they have thick accents (but I did not bring that up until now). Sure, I have a slight accent, but, unlike them, I speak English in a quite accessible and engaging manner. I've never had any issues with people understanding me (as a side note, I have a Ph.D. and teach at the university). I did not realize that I was dealing with an ill-behaving teenager until I did get a hold of his father later. The father apologized for his son's immature and disrespectful behavior. He offered me free lunch/dinner, which is a classic maneuver that aims to calm the critic. But I did not accept it of course. Some quick suggestions: AC should stop ripping off its customers immediately by, as first measure, increasing the portions of foods that come in discrete units or packages. Also, the son, who does not know how to treat customers, should not engage them at all. Second, the quality of baklava depends on various aspects, some of which are the quality of flour, thinness of the dough, and proportion of the syrup. Their so-called "baklava" was frozen, stale, and tasteless. It seems that they put no genuine effort in preparing deserts. Third, clearly, they do not know what "Turkish Coffee" is supposed to be like. As someone who is originally from Turkey, I believe I know the difference (as a side note, The Mad Greek also suffers from similar issues. I would easily rate that restaurant an F---that's how bad and overpriced it is). Fourth, based on my impression of their menu, restaurants like AC seem to prey on the ignorance of the locals, esp., their lack of knowledge of food from varied regions of Anatolia and the Greek peninsula. I mean no offence but most people from Lawrence or other parts of Kansas are typically not well informed about Mediterranean cuisine. For instance, what AC serves as Turkish Coffee is basically hot water with a hint of ground coffee flavor in the background. It has nothing to do with the real Turkish coffee. I have similar concerns about the other items in their menu. However, I won't comment on them here. I guess anyone who reads this should get the gist of my point.

    Pleasant deliver person, quick delivery

    Nov 16, 2021

Only half of our order was delivered. EatStreet went back to the restaurant to pick up the rest of the order. It took about 45 minutes. Spinach pie was soggy and tasted undercooked. Grilled vegetables consisted of barely cooked carrot sticks, green peppers, large pieces of red onion and an occasional piece of red pepper.

Excellent - Aladdin Cafe is always so good!

    Sep 27, 2021

We were missing the Aladdin gyro sandwich. Was told it would take 30-45 min. It Took 1hr and 45 min. The food was cold.

    Sep 13, 2021

This time they got it right. Great food.

    Aug 20, 2021

Usually the lamb Hummus sandwich includes a side of Greek salad, which by the way is wonderful. Mine had none. Only the rice and a lonely empty hole where the salad should be. Bummer.

    May 14, 2021

The food as always was fresh and delicious. The beef kabob meat was very tough and difficult to chew. We did not get the bakhlava as part of the order.

    Apr 29, 2021

Fantastic food- great vegan and vegetarian options.

    Apr 21, 2021

Our order was cancelled, so we had to order from some place else.

    The food was really good.

    Mar 25, 2021

Got lentil soup and baba ganoush; was tasty!

    Mar 24, 2021

The food was great! The lentil soup is perfect much better than other Mediterranean Restaurants I tried in Lawrence. The chicken shawarma was the perfect but not a mind-blowing type of perfect. I am sorry but the rice and the sauce that comes with chicken were not okay. The portion of baklava was too small just a small ONE slice not worth the money. To sum up, the Aladdin Cafe is a good choice.

    Mar 17, 2021

    Delicious as always!

My wife and I enjoy the food from Aladdin Cafe. The EatStreet service indicated as the delivery on the Alladin Cafe website works well.

    Nov 29, 2020

They forgot the pita bread, but the rest of the food was excellent.
